Livadhi Beach is the first major swim stop north of Himara. A 1.5 km pebble crescent between rocky headlands, 20-30 minutes on every short coastline tour.

Livadhi from the boat

Livadhi Beach is the first major swim stop heading north from Himara, about 4.5 km by sea, a 7–10 minute speedboat run. The beach is a wide pebble crescent (~1.5 km long) enclosed by rocky headlands, and the shallow water is clear to the bottom, which makes it good for families. From the boat, the framing is the main attraction: the entire crescent visible at once, headlands on each end, and Himara Castle silhouetted on the hill above.

Standard swim allocation: 20–30 minutes. The boat anchors offshore; swimmers reach the beach and return.

For most short tours, Livadhi is where the day eases in: calm water, a shallow swim, restaurants visible onshore.

Domande frequenti

Why is Livadhi the first stop on every northbound tour?+

Geography. Livadhi sits roughly 4.5 km north of Himara's mini-dock, a 7–10 minute boat run. Operators use it as the warm-up stop before continuing to Aquarium, Jale, Crystal Beach, and the cliff caves further north.

Can you reach Livadhi by car?+

Yes. Livadhi has free beachside parking and is one of the easiest beaches near Himara to reach overland. Boat tours visit the seaward side, which most car visitors don't see. For full overland detail, see our /beaches/livadhi-beach page.

What's special about the boat-arrival angle at Livadhi?+

The 1.5 km crescent is best appreciated from offshore, the rocky headlands enclosing each end, the pine trees behind, and Himara Castle visible on the hill above. Most visitors who only drive to Livadhi miss this framing.
