Drymades from the Boat
Drymades Beach is the white-pebble beach immediately north of Dhërmi, separated by a small rocky headland. The beach is long, scenic, and increasingly resort-developed — but from the boat angle it remains one of the most picturesque northern Riviera shorelines.
About 14 km north of Himara by sea, Drymades is a standard pass-through stop on Grama Bay long-haul tours. Treatment varies:
- Grama Bay full-day — pass-through photos, ~5 min from the boat
- Northern coastline tour — possible 15–20 min swim stop
- Most short Himara tours — turn around south of Drymades at Pirate's Cave / Gjipe
Position
Approximate coordinates: 40.157°N, 19.628°E — about 14 km north of Himara by sea, between Dhërmi Beach and Palasa.
What You See From the Boat
- Long white-pebble shoreline
- Crystal-clear water; quick deepening
- Resort hotels and beach clubs visible above the back of the beach
- The Panagia Drymadon monastery on the hills inland (visible at certain angles)
Boat vs. Overland
Drymades is the kind of beach where the boat angle and overland angle are genuinely different experiences:
- From the boat — long crescent, dramatic mountain backdrop, pristine shoreline
- Overland — beach club access, restaurants, accommodation, easier swim setup
For a full overland day at Drymades, see the full guide. For the boat photo angle, the Grama Bay tour delivers it in passing.
