Himara Nightlife FAQs
What's the nightlife like in Himara?
Relaxed and low-key. The scene is built around beach bars that run from afternoon into sunset and a cluster of rooftop and cocktail bars in town for the evening, rather than big clubs. If you want a louder, festival-and-club night out, that's further north up the coast at Dhermi and Drymades; Himara itself stays mellow.
Where are the bars in Himara?
Two main pockets. Beach bars are strung along the coast — on Spile, Livadhi, Potami, Llamani and Jale beaches — great for a sundowner where you swam. The rooftop and cocktail bars sit in town, around Spile and the centre, a short walk from the promenade restaurants.
How late do places stay open?
It varies by venue and season. Beach bars open through the afternoon and wind down after sunset; the town's rooftop and cocktail bars are busiest later and run into the early hours at the July–August peak. Many smaller spots keep shorter hours or close entirely outside summer, so check before a late night.
Is there a proper club scene?
Only lightly. Himara has beach bars and a beach club rather than a row of nightclubs. The Riviera's bigger club nights and music festivals happen up the coast around Dhermi — so plan a trip north if a full club night is what you're after.
Are drinks expensive?
Not by Western-European standards. Cocktails at the rooftop and beach bars cost a fraction of what you'd pay at home, though beachfront spots with sunbed service and the beach club sit at the higher end. Carry some cash — smaller bars are often cash-preferred.
