Worth noticing the bottom of that table. Poda (3.7), Principotes (3.8), Bora Bora (4.0) and Bianco (4.2) all carry very high review volumes with markedly lower scores. How the evening actually works
Ksamil's night is a continuation of its day rather than a separate event.
16:00-19:00, the good hours. Day-trippers leave on the bus back to Saranda, the beach empties, the sea is at its warmest, and the bars shift from serving lunch to serving drinks. This is the best time to be here and most people miss it.
Sunset, around 20:30 in July and 20:00 in August. The sun goes down behind the islets and the entire beach turns to watch. Free, nightly, and the single best thing about Ksamil after dark.
21:00 onward. Dinner on the strip, then drinks at the beach bars. Music, but at a volume you can talk over. Things wind down far earlier than a party coast would.
Late. There isn't really a late. If you want one, the bus is gone and you are looking at a taxi to Saranda.
When to go to Saranda instead
Honestly: often. Saranda is 14 km north, and it has the evening xhiro along the promenade, a far wider spread of bars and rooftops, and an actual town's worth of choice. The catch is the bus. The Saranda–Ksamil service runs until roughly 20:00 in peak season and earlier off-season, so an evening in Saranda means a taxi back. Split between three or four people that is fine; alone it is the main reason people stay put.

Seasonality
This matters more in Ksamil than almost anywhere, because the village is seasonal.
- July and August. Everything open, busiest, most atmosphere, and the only time there is anything resembling a scene.
- June and early September, bars open, crowds thinner, arguably the nicest evenings of the year.
- Late September onward, venues start shortening hours and closing for the season.
- May and winter, much of the strip is shut. Do not plan an evening around it.
Practical notes
- Cash. Beach bars are inconsistent about cards and the nearest reliable ATMs are in Saranda.
- Cocktail prices sit well above what you would pay inland. This is the most expensive stretch of the Albanian coast for a drink as well as for a sunbed.
- The front row costs more. Same as the sunbeds: position is the product.
- Check the last bus before settling in if you are staying in Saranda.
- Noise. Some accommodation sits directly behind the beach bars. If you are a light sleeper, check what is below your balcony before booking a peak-season room.
