Shëtitorja · Spile · Himarë

The beach at the door. The bay from the roof.

A hotel on the town's promenade since 2000, renovated inside with walnut, black steel and pale tile. Two of its four room types face the water; breakfast is upstairs, under the canopy on the roof.

The rooms

Four rooms, two sides

The climb

Same bay, three heights

From the paving of the promenade to a sea-side balcony to the roof. The lift does the work.

  1. Ground

    The promenade

The front door opens onto the paving of the Spile promenade, with the pines, the cafés and, across them, the beach. This is the town's evening walk.

The hotel's card, Hotel Veizi in red script over the words Shëtitorja Himarë, propped on a table on Spile beach with the bay and a moored yacht behind

  2. A sea-side room

    A sea-side balcony

Two of the four room types face the water and come with a glass-railed balcony. From up here the beach is directly below and the bay curves away to the hills.

  3. Roof

    The roof terrace

The top of the building is a terrace under a canopy, set with tables. Breakfast is served here, and the whole bay is in front of it.

Upstairs

Breakfast on the roof

The top of the building is a terrace under a canopy, railed in glass and set with tables, and it is where breakfast is laid out each morning: a continental buffet with fruit, cheese and juice, with things chosen for children too. In the evening the same tables face the sunset across the bay.

Tables and parasols on the roof terrace at dusk, a palm in a planter and the headland across the bay
A table for two on the roof terrace in evening light, with two parasols and the bay and its headland beyond the rail

Around the door

Five beaches on foot

Spile is the town beach, and the hotel sits on its promenade. The rest run along the shore in both directions. For tables, three are within twenty metres of the door; see where to eat in Himarë for the rest.
