The hotelBooking.com listing, read 13 Aug 2026

A family-run hotel of six room types on the landward side of the beach road at Potam, at the point where the bay ends and the headland to Filikuri begins. Every upper-floor room opens onto its own balcony behind frameless glass; the ground floor carries a painted sea and the hotel’s name in the owner’s hand.

Reception speaks Greek, English, Albanian. There is no restaurant, no bar and no breakfast — Himarë’s seafront is a fifteen-minute walk up the coast road, and the beach bars at Potam are closer than that.

Three storeys, apricot render, white slab bands. Every room on the two upper floors opens onto its own balcony behind frameless glass, with the same black mesh chairs on each. The ground-floor wall is painted with a breaking wave and hand-lettered Sea Side. The hillside comes down to the back of the building; the court in front is walled in dressed stone.

The baythe hotel's own aerial frame
Potam bay from the hillside above Seaside Hotel: the hotel's roof and outside stair, the beachfront car park, the beach, and Himarë across the water
Taken from the slope behind. The hotel is the building in the foreground — same render, same white bands, solar thermal panels and an external stair on the landward side. Beyond it, in this order: the beachfront car park, the sand and shingle, the bay, and the town of Himarë on the far shore under the ridge. This is the frame that fixes the hotel's position relative to the water.

The fix

The travel guide this page was built from files 188 Himarë properties against 14 coordinate pairs — village centroids, one of them shared by 129 listings. The pair it gives this hotel sits 492 m up the coast, and it fails three of the four distances the hotel’s own listing publishes.

So the pin was resolved instead of copied. Booking.com’s map for the property centres on 40.090477 N, 19.754589 E. Taking that as a hypothesis and measuring it against four independent OpenStreetMap features gives the arcs below: Prinos agrees to 3 m, the beach to 8 m.

The two that read long are both measured to the centre of a long beach polygon rather than to the point Booking measures to, which can only make them read long. Against the guide’s coordinate the same four landmarks give 515 m to Potam Beach where the listing says 46 m, 355 m to Prinos Beach where the listing says 701 m, 1317 m to Himarë town centre where the listing says 1448 m. That pin is 40.0945, 19.757; it is not published anywhere on this site.

9.5out of 10 · Exceptional

Booking.com’s own scale, not converted and not averaged with anything else. The guide entry this page replaces published the same figure halved and relabelled as a rating out of five; that number does not appear here.

The hotel also has a Tripadvisor page, still filed under its former name. Its rating is not reproduced here: the page would not load for verification, and a second platform’s number is worth nothing until it has been read on the platform.
