Getting to town
Coming from further off
Himarë is a stop on the coast road between Vlorë and Sarandë, and the buses pull in within walking distance of here. For the timings and the drive, the guide covers Tirana to Himarë by bus and getting to Himarë in full.
Once you are in town everything in the centre is on foot, and the water is a few streets below the road.

Himarë from above — the town beach, the pier and the promenade below the hillside, and the mountains behind. The town the pizzeria stands in, not the pizzeria

Questions
- What is the place actually called?
- Two words, in blue neon on the striped wall: PIZZA NAPOLI. Listings write it out longer — Pizzeria Napoli, and Pizzeri Napoli — and all three point at the same terrace on the SH8 in the middle of Himarë.
- Where in Himarë is it?
- In the centre of town, on the main road that runs through it, a few streets up from the seafront. The terrace is the open one under the pine ceiling with the striped wall behind it, and the neon is lit on the wall at the back of it.
- Is there anywhere to sit, or is it takeaway?
- Both. There are tables on the covered terrace and more inside past the counter, and flat boxes stand ready on the counter for anything walking out of the door.
- What comes out of the kitchen?
- Pizza — round, brought out on a wooden board with the rim risen and flecked dark at the edge. The counter carries trays of it as well, for anyone who wants a piece rather than a whole one.
- Do I need to book a table?
- It is a walk-in terrace on a town street rather than a room that takes reservations. There are tables along the rail at the front and more inside past the counter, and nowhere to book one ahead.
