A family table under the olive trees

Tents on the stone terraces, small vans in the shade, and a kitchen that feeds the whole grove — about 150 metres from Drymades Beach.

A small campsite, kept by one family

Camping Paradise is an olive grove on the Drymades side of Dhërmi, terraced with dry-stone walls and shaded from one end to the other. There is room for tents and for small campervans, a block of showers and toilets, and a restaurant in the middle of it all where the same family cooks for campers and for anyone who walks in from the beach.

The season runs from mid-May to the start of October. Pitches are not sold online; you call, or you come.

What comes out of the kitchen

Home cooking, Albanian and Greek: village salad and tzatziki, sardines and anchovies, squid grilled, fried or stuffed, sea bream and sea bass off the grill, moussaka and stuffed peppers. A few lines from the printed card:

Staying

Two ways to sleep in the grove

A row of blue and white dome tents pitched on a raised terrace behind a dry-stone wall, olive trees overhead

With a tent

Along the stone terraces

Tents go up on the terraces behind the dry-stone walls, on soft bark and gravel, with the olive canopy closing over them by midday.

With a van

On the gravel under the trees

Campervans park on the gravel between the trunks, in shade for most of the day. The lanes and the gate suit small vans; motorhomes over about seven metres will not get in.

Finding it

Below the coast road, above the beach

Afer Morines, Drymades, Dhërmi. The gate is narrow and easy to drive past, so navigate to the pin, not to the beach.
