By road

Getting to Himarë

Himarë Castle and the old village4 km — about 10 minutes up the hill
Porto Palermo and Ali Pasha's fortress8 km south — about 15 minutes
Gjipe Beach car park12.5 km north — about 25 minutes, then the walk down the canyon
Sarandë and the Corfu ferry56 km south — about 1 h 20 in light traffic
Tirana International Airport215 km — allow about 4 hours

Times are free-flow estimates along the driving route. Riviera traffic in July and August is materially worse — add a margin.

Practical

Arriving

Driving. Most guests arrive by car down the SH8 from Tirana or up from Sarandë. Free private parking is available nearby rather than on the plot itself, and it has to be reserved in advance — say so when you book.

By bus. The coastal services from Tirana and from Sarandë stop in Himarë town, a short walk from the door along the promenade.

Flying. Tirana International is the practical airport at about 215 km. Vlorë International is closer on a map but had no scheduled commercial service as of July 2026, so do not plan an arrival around it.

From Corfu. The ferry lands at Sarandë, around 55 km south — about an hour and twenty on the coast road in light traffic.

Checking in. 14:00 – 23:00 for arrivals, 07:00 – 11:00 for departures, with the desk staffed around the clock. The property is cash only, and there are ATMs on the promenade.

Worth the drive

The old village inside the castle walls is four kilometres up the hill and free to walk into — no gate, no ticket, and the whole bay laid out below it.
