Rruga 2 Dhjetori

Spile, the north end of the shore.

Himarë runs along one bay. Spile is its northern quarter and its working seafront: the beach, the moored boats, the tavernas, and one lane of houses standing behind a stone wall. This is one of them.

Along the shore

Five beaches, four of them south.

The first one is across the lane. South-east of it the shoreline breaks into coves, each with its own name and its own water; Livadhi lies the other way, north-west past the headland. None of them is more than a twenty-minute walk.

Getting here

Down the coast road.

Tirana is the arrival airport, about four to five hours away by road — south to Fier and Vlorë, then over the Llogara pass and down the Riviera. Coastal buses stop in Himarë, a short walk up from the lane.

If you drive, the parking is inside the wall and it is free — which in August is the difference between arriving and circling.

Arriving

Someone has to be at the gate.

There is no reception. The owner comes to meet guests and hand over the key, so send an arrival time ahead and keep it roughly. Payment is in cash on arrival.

Arrival
15:00 to 22:00, and the owner needs your arrival time in advance

Within two hundred metres

Three kitchens are close enough to walk to barefoot. The rest of the town's tables are strung along the promenade behind them.
