01 · The tents
You arrive to a tent, not a pitch.
Bell tents and dome tents stand ready between the old olive trunks, along paths of bare red earth, with the shade of the grove over all of it.

02 · The mornings
Breakfast is laid out on the long table.
Eggs, tomatoes, cucumber, white cheese and olives go out under the trees, and on some mornings the mats come out too, in the shade beside the ring of stones where the fire burns at night.

03 · The grove
A fire ring, music after dark, and darts on a tree.
After dark the camp gathers round the fire ring for music. There is table football under a lamp, hammocks between the trees, and a dartboard fixed to an olive trunk beside the painted huts.

04 · The coast below
The road keeps going down to Jalë.
The camp sits on the road between Vuno and the sea. Follow it down and it ends at Jalë bay, with its pale beach and wooded headland; follow it up and you reach the village.

Questions
Before you come
Where exactly is Valdrin's Camping?
Valdrin's Camping is in an olive grove beside Rruga Jali, the road that winds from Vuno village down to Jalë beach in Himarë municipality on the Albanian Riviera. Vuno is about 2 km up the road, Jalë beach about 4 km down it, and the town of Himarë about 9 km to the south.
Do I need to bring my own tent?
No. Bell tents and dome tents are already pitched between the olive trees when you arrive, so you come to a ready tent in the shade rather than an empty pitch. Bring what you would bring to any summer camp: a torch, swimwear, sandals for the beach and something warm for the evenings by the fire.
Is food available at the camp?
Yes. Breakfast is laid out on a long table under the olive trees, with eggs, tomatoes, cucumber, white cheese and olives, and the cooking is done on site, home-style. Guests eat together at the long tables in the grove rather than at separate tables, so meals are where the camp meets.
How do I book a tent at Valdrin's Camping?
Book directly with the camp: call or text +355 69 820 6202, or send a message to @wave_travelks on Instagram, with your dates and the number of people. The booking bar on this page writes that text message for you, dates and guests included, and opens it on your phone.
How far is Valdrin's Camping from the beach?
Jalë beach is about 4 km down the road from the camp, roughly ten minutes by car. Akuarium beach is about 5 km away past Jalë, Dhërmi beach about 13 km north along the SH8 coast road, and Himarë's own beaches about 9 km south. The camp itself is in the olive grove, not on the sand.
What is there to do in the evenings?
The evenings happen round the fire ring in the middle of the grove, with music. There is table football under a lamp, a dartboard on an olive trunk and hammocks between the trees. In June the camp runs its own festival, Wave Fest, with music and activities over several days.
Is Valdrin's Camping well reviewed?
Yes. Valdrin's Camping holds a score of 4.9 out of 5 on Google. Guests single out the welcome from the people who run it, the comfortable tents, the campfire evenings, the cleanliness of the camp and the ease of meeting other travellers round the long table and the fire.
