Tables laid with white and blue gingham cloths on a flagstone terrace under olive trees at dusk, tall yuccas on the left, cane-staked vegetable beds and a thatched parasol behind

Potam · Himarë · Albania

An olive garden, three minutes above the sea.

Rooms around an olive grove, with a kitchen in the garden.

Guest House Solive is two pale yellow houses on the slope above Potam, in the trees between the coast road and the hill. Flagstone paths run between the olives, tomatoes and cucumbers grow on cane stakes, and the bar and kitchen sit under a pergola of bougainvillea. Breakfast is served out there, and so is dinner.

The house is up out of the traffic, and the walk down goes to Prinos Beach. The rest of Himarë's bay is in reach on foot, from the town promenade at Spile to the shingle at Potami.

Finding the gate.

The guest house is at Potam, on the slope above the coast road on the south side of Himarë's bay. Look for the white arch with the painted letters. Parking is free, in the garage under the house.

Directions on Google Maps

Getting here, and how far things are

Questions.

How far is Guest House Solive from the beach?

About three minutes on foot. The guest house sits in an olive grove on the slope above Potam, and the walk goes downhill to Prinos Beach. Maraçi Beach is about 400 m away, Potami Beach about 500 m and Spile Beach, with the town promenade, about 600 m, so the whole of Himarë's bay is walkable.

Is breakfast included, and can I eat dinner there?

Breakfast is served in the garden under the pergola: eggs, feta, tomato and cucumber, bread, jam, coffee and tea. Whether it is included depends on the rate you book on Booking.com. In the evenings the kitchen cooks dinner for the house — grilled or baked fish, pasta and salads — at the tables under the olive trees.

What rooms are there and how many people do they sleep?

There are four room types. The Double Room is 24 m² with a queen bed and a balcony. The Triple Room with Garden View is 25 m² with three single beds. The Family Room is 30 m² with a queen, a single and a sofa bed, for up to four. The Single Room is 20 m² with a terrace onto the garden.

Is there parking at Guest House Solive?

Yes. Parking is free and private, in a covered garage under the house, and it does not need reserving. Street parking is also available nearby. Guests mention it often: in high summer, a covered space a few minutes above the beach is hard to find in Himarë.

How do I pay, and how do I book?

Rates and availability are live on Booking.com, where the reservation is held. The stay itself is paid in cash at the property, so bring euros or Albanian lek. For questions before you book, call or message the guest house on +355 69 263 9898.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 14:00 to 23:00 and check-out is until 11:00. Check-in and check-out can be done privately or express if you arrive late or leave early. Quiet hours run from 01:00 to 07:00, and the property is smoke-free.

Are children and pets welcome?

Children aged six and over are welcome; the guest house has no cots or extra beds, so the Family Room, with a queen, a single and a sofa bed, is the one for a family of four. Pets are allowed on request, at no extra charge — ask before you arrive.

Is there Wi-Fi and air conditioning in the rooms?

Yes. Wi-Fi is free in the rooms, and guests on Booking.com score it 9.9 out of 10. Every room has air conditioning and heating, a flat-screen TV, a fridge, a wardrobe and its own bathroom with a shower and a bidet. Staff speak English and Italian.
