The hill

Olive trees, bougainvillea, and the bay below.

The residence is spread over a terraced garden of old olive trees on the Perivolo road, with crazy-paved paths between the blocks and the Ceraunian mountains behind. Most homes look out over the trees to the sea.

Questions

Before you come.

How far is Olives Residence from the beach?

Drymades Beach is about a kilometre downhill from the residence in a straight line: a few minutes by car, or about a quarter of an hour on foot going down. Dhërmi Beach is a little over two kilometres to the south and Palasa about two kilometres to the north. The residence sits among olive trees on the Perivolo road, away from the beach clubs.

What kinds of accommodation are there?

Nine types: one-bedroom apartments and a deluxe suite for up to three, two-bedroom apartments for four, a two-bedroom villa and a duplex suite for five, a three-bedroom villa for six and a four-bedroom superior villa for nine. Every one has its own entrance, a kitchen and a washing machine.

Does Olives Residence have a pool?

Yes, two outdoor pools, both free for guests and both seasonal. One has a shallow end and a fence, which suits families with small children, and both have loungers and a pool bar beside them. Out of season the pools are closed, so check the dates of your stay when you book.

Is there a restaurant at Olives Residence?

Yes. In season the residence runs its own restaurant serving Italian cooking for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a continental breakfast in the morning and a bar by the pool. Every unit also has a full kitchen, so many guests cook for themselves and eat on their terrace or balcony.

Is Olives Residence good for families?

It is built for groups and families: units sleep from three to nine, one has a bunk room and several have twin rooms, children of all ages are welcome, cots for under-twos are free on request and there is outdoor play equipment. The setting is quiet, up among the olives rather than on the beach strip.

How do I pay, and what are the check-in times?

Payment at the property is cash only, so bring enough cash for the stay. Check-in runs from 15:00 until midnight, and the property asks you to tell it your arrival time in advance; check-out is between 07:30 and 10:00. A photo ID and a credit card are asked for on arrival.

Is there parking and WiFi?

Yes to both. Private parking on site is free and needs no reservation. WiFi is free in every unit and is one of the things guests rate highest, at 9.5 out of 10 on Booking.com.

Can I bring my dog?

No. Pets are not allowed at Olives Residence. If you are travelling with a dog along the Albanian Riviera, look for a property that states it accepts pets before you book, because the rule here applies to every apartment, suite and villa on the hill.
