Palasë · above Drymades · Himarë

Three hundred metres above the bay.

The view from a balcony rail at Hotel Palasa over olive and palm trees down to Drymades and the Ionian Sea, an island faint on the horizon

Hotel Palasa is a family-run hotel on the hillside above Palasë, at the northern end of the Himarë coast. It stands about 310 metres up, among olive, cedar and palm, and its sea-facing balconies look straight down over Drymades to the open Ionian Sea.

There is a pool on the terrace beside the house, breakfast cooked to order in the morning, and parking at the door. The beaches are below, a short drive down the hill; the view comes with the room.

The section

From the door to the water, as it really falls.

The ground drops about three hundred metres in a little over a kilometre and a half, through olive groves and houses to the coast road and the beach. It is why the sea-facing rooms look over the whole bay, and why the beaches are a drive rather than a walk.

There is a bar in the house, room service, and the terrace tables under the palms when the evening cools.

The terrace

A pool on the hill, the sea over the hedge.

The pool sits on a paved terrace beside the house, open in season and free for guests, with a shallow children’s section at one end and loungers under straw parasols along the far edge. Around it are the garden, the terrace and the bar, and parking is free at the door.

A hanging chair at the poolside, the sea through the trees.

What guests say

03Does Hotel Palasa have a swimming pool?

Yes. The hotel has an outdoor pool on a terrace beside the building, open in season and free for guests, with a shallow section for children at one end. Loungers and straw parasols line the far edge, and the sea shows through the trees beyond it.

04Is breakfast included at Hotel Palasa?

Breakfast at Hotel Palasa is served every morning and cooked to order from a menu rather than laid out as a buffet, and most room rates include it. There is also a bar in the house, and room service is available to the rooms.

05Which rooms at Hotel Palasa have a sea view?

The Double Room with Balcony and Sea View, the Triple Room with Balcony and the Family Room with Sea View all face the sea and have balconies. The Double Room with Mountain View and the two Triple Rooms with Mountain View look up the hill instead.

06Is Hotel Palasa good for families?

The Family Rooms with Sea View are 50 square metres, with two single beds and a large double, and sleep four. Cots for children up to two years old are free; the hotel has no extra beds. The pool has a shallow section for children, and the house is quiet.

07What are the check-in and check-out times?

08How do I get to Hotel Palasa?

Hotel Palasa is on the SH8 coast road above Palasë, at the northern end of the Himarë coast, about 13 km by road from the Llogara National Park. From Vlorë, follow the SH8 south over the Llogara Pass or through the Llogara Tunnel; the hotel is on the hillside before Dhërmi.

09Is Hotel Palasa the same as Palasa View?

No. Hotel Palasa is the family-run hotel on the hillside above Palasë with the name painted on its gable and a pool beside the building. Palasa View is a separate aparthotel on the same coast road, with its own rooms and its own bookings.
