The house

Questions

Asked before booking

Is Hotel Jon right on Dhërmi beach?

Yes. Hotel Jon stands in its own garden on Rruga e Plazhit, the promenade behind Dhërmi beach, and the garden path runs straight out onto the pebble. Each room has its own umbrella with two sunbeds on the hotel's stretch of the beach, so the walk from your door to the water is a short one.

How do I book a room at Hotel Jon?

Write to the hotel at hotel_jon@yahoo.com, or call +355 69 514 3555, with your dates and the number of guests. The booking bar on this site writes that email for you with the dates already filled in. The hotel takes payment in cash only, so plan for that before you travel.

What rooms does Hotel Jon have?

Doubles and triples. The doubles have a double bed and the triples a double and a single. Every room opens onto the balconies that run the length of the timber house, over the garden, and some of the rooms look out to sea. All have air conditioning, a private shower room, a TV and a wardrobe.

Is Hotel Jon the same place as Hotel by Jon?

No. Hotel by Jon is a separate, newer building on Rruga Megali Hora, roughly 460 metres inland from the beach, with its own phone number and its own listings. Hotel Jon is the orange timber house in the garden on the beach promenade, phone +355 69 514 3555.

Is there parking at Hotel Jon?

Yes, and it is free. Cars go to the hotel's private parking a short walk from the house rather than to the door itself, which sits on the beach promenade. Guests describe the walk from the car to the house as an easy one.

How do I get to Hotel Jon in Dhërmi?

Dhërmi lies on the SH8 coast road between Vlorë, to the north over the Llogara Pass, and Himarë, about ten kilometres to the south-east. From the SH8 take the road down to Dhërmi beach and follow the beach road, Rruga e Plazhit. The hotel is on the promenade behind the sand.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in at Hotel Jon runs from 14:00 to 22:30 and check-out is by 10:30. The front desk speaks Albanian, Greek, English and Italian. Children of all ages are welcome, but the hotel has no cots or extra beds, and pets are not allowed.

Is Dhërmi lively in the evening?

In summer, yes. The promenade outside the garden fills with restaurants, beach bars and people walking after dark, and the hotel sits in the middle of it. Everything is a few steps away, and in high summer the beach bars play music late into the night.
