The terrace
The tables stand out on the promenade under a stretched awning, with a glass balustrade along the seaward side and Spile beach and the Ionian beyond it.
What it is made of
The floor is exposed-aggregate concrete, laid flat and level with the promenade paving that carries on past the glass. White posts carry a cream stretched awning over most of the tables, and woven pendant lampshades hang from its frame.
The seaward edge is glass. It keeps the wind off the tables without taking anything off the view.
The chairs
Painted timber, ladder-backed: two uprights, a top rail and two slats, with arms on most of them. Green on the chairs; the tabletops are mostly yellow, with a few bare timber tops on dark metal frames.
