Potam, at the south end of the Himarë bay
The Himarë bay runs about a kilometre and a half from the town beach at Spile down to Potam. The hotel is at the Potam end, on the seaward side of the SH8 and some 400 m off it, six metres above the water.
That puts the quiet beaches on the doorstep and the town twenty-five minutes up the front — close enough to walk in for dinner in town, far enough off the SH8 that the traffic is not at the door.

Getting here
By car
The SH8 coast road passes about 400 m from the property and a side lane runs from it to the door. From Vlorë it is the Llogara pass and then the coast; from Saranda it is the same road the other way. Parking is in the garden, free, and does not need reserving.
By minibus
The Tirana and Saranda minibuses stop up by the town centre, 1.28 km in a straight line and 1.66 km on the mapped footway. It is a flat walk of roughly twenty-five minutes with a bag. A taxi covers 5.2 km, because the driving route goes up and round over the bypass.
On foot from town
Follow the promenade south-east past Spile and Marachi beaches. The hotel is the cut-stone block with battlements on it, at the far end where the bay narrows towards Potam.

A slot cut through the stone, and next to it the balustrade, the sago palm and the headland · booking gallery 680637494

Questions
Before you book
- Is Castle Hotel part of Himarë Castle?
- No. The hotel is named for its own architecture — a parapet of triangular merlons, loggias of pointed arches and a rusticated stone entrance built into the property itself. The medieval fortress above Himarë is a separate place 3.5 km up the coast and 172 m higher, reached by road and then on foot through the old village.
- Where exactly is Castle Hotel?
- At Potam, at the southern end of the Himarë bay, 1.37 km from the town centre and about 400 m off the SH8 coast road. The hotel stands at 6 m above sea level with its garden running down towards Potam Beach.
- How far is the beach?
- The lawn runs to the low wall at the end of the garden, the promenade is on the other side of it and the beach starts there. Filikuri Beach is 613 m south and Prinos 608 m north, and Spile — the town beach — is 1.25 km north-west.
- Is there parking at Castle Hotel?
- Yes. Private parking on site is free and no reservation is needed for it.
- What are the check-in and check-out times?
- Check-in is from 14:00 to 22:00 and check-out is between 10:00 and 10:30.
- Is there a lift?
- No. The upper floors are reached by stairs, and some rooms are on the ground floor.
- Does Castle Hotel have a restaurant?
