A table and two chairs on a white balcony at Velco BB Himara, looking over an olive grove to the sea and a wooded headland

Potam · Himarë · Albania

Sunrise and sunset
right from your bed

That is how the house puts it, and the ground under it is the reason: Velco BB stands on the olive terraces above Potam, high enough that the water starts where the trees stop. Every room has a balcony. Breakfast is included, and it is downstairs.

Taverna Velco is downstairs

The room that serves breakfast in the morning is a Greek seafood taverna in the evening, and it trades under its own name to anyone who walks in off the road. It keeps its own pages, with its own kitchen and its own hours, so there is no point in repeating them here.

The ground it stands on

250 metres up from the water

Potam is the southern quarter of Himarë, and its pebble shore — Potami Beach — sits below the olive terraces the balconies look across. The road through the village runs past the door, so the car stays here and the walk down takes a few minutes.

If you are still deciding, the guide has a page on getting here by bus, ferry and road.
