Ionian Pearl is a small house of rooms set into the slope above Drymades. The rooms are white, with marble-effect floors and a balcony each; most look out over olive groves and red roofs to the open sea, a few onto the green hillside behind. The pool, the deck and a shared outdoor kitchen sit beside the house on three terraces of drystone. No meals are served — the kitchen is yours to use.

01 — Three terraces

Kitchen, pool, deck — one step down at a time.

02 — The owners

Run by the people who own it.

The owners look after the house themselves. They answer the phone, keep the rooms spotless and help with whatever comes up — bags up the steep road included. Text them your arrival time before you set off.

04 — The way down

About 180 metres up, and about a kilometre from the water.

That height is the view: the whole bay sits under the sea-side balconies and the pool's far edge. It is also the drive. The beaches of Drymades and Dhërmi are below the house, down a steep, paved road, and the easy way to them is by car.

07 — Questions

What people ask before they write.

Where exactly is Ionian Pearl?

On the hillside above Drymades, in Dhërmi on the Albanian Riviera, at 40.15821 N, 19.62554 E (plus code 5J5G+76). The house stands about 180 metres above the sea, roughly 300 metres off the SH8 coastal road, with Drymades Beach about 1.1 km downhill in a straight line.

How far is Ionian Pearl from the beach?

Drymades Beach is about 1.1 km away in a straight line and Dhërmi Beach about 1.7 km. Both are downhill, and the road is steep, so most guests drive: the run down to Drymades takes a few minutes. The house is a hillside stay with a pool, not a beachfront one.

Does Ionian Pearl have a swimming pool?

Yes. A long, narrow outdoor pool sits on the middle terrace between a drystone wall and a timber sun deck, with the bay on the horizon beyond its far edge. It is a seasonal pool, open through the warm months of the year.

Can I cook at Ionian Pearl?

Yes. The top terrace has a shared outdoor kitchen under a steel roof, with a fridge, a hob, an oven, shelves and a long table, and a stone barbecue at the end. Some units also have a kitchen of their own. No meals are served at the house.

Do all the rooms have a sea view?

No. Most rooms face the sea, some straight on and some at an angle, each with a balcony. A few double rooms face the mountain instead, onto the green slope and the stone walls behind the house. Say which you would like when you write.

How do I book a room at Ionian Pearl?

Directly with the house. Send a text or call +355 68 281 5375 with your dates and the number of guests, and the owners will confirm what is free. The booking bar on this site writes the message for you with the dates already filled in.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in runs from 14:00 to 22:00 and check-out is by 11:00. The road up from the SH8 is steep but fully paved, so text the owners with your arrival time before you set off.

Is there parking at Ionian Pearl?

Yes. There is parking at the house itself, beside the pool, so you do not leave the car on the lane. A car is the easiest way to stay here: the beaches, the village and the restaurants of Drymades and Dhërmi are all downhill from the house.
