There is one terrace here and everything is on it: the tents, the wash line, the painted wall, the kitchen and the rail you swim off. It is a working camp rather than a resort — the bathroom is shared, every unit is a tent, and there are entertainment staff on the payroll, so the evenings are not silent.

  1. 01 · The row

    Canvas bell tents guyed to timber posts along a single narrow terrace, each on its own deck, each with the water on one side and a whitewashed retaining wall on the other. Every unit is on the ground.

  2. 02 · The canvas

    Inside: a double bed and a single, linen, a rug on a parquet floor, a mosquito net and a bulb on the centre pole. There is a dining table and outdoor furniture on the deck, and the sea view is not optional.

  3. 03 · The wash line

    The bathroom is shared — toilet, shower, toilet paper — and there is an open-air bath as well. One of the mirrors is lashed to a post with a tap under it and nothing behind it but the Ionian.

  4. 04 · The painted wall

    The retaining wall carries a hand-painted peacock, and finished panels stand propped against the rope rail. The camp files this under facilities, alongside the parking: temporary art galleries.

  5. 05 · The kitchen

    A restaurant, a bar, a snack bar and a coffee house on site, breakfast continental with vegetarian options, kids' meals and special diet menus on request. Outdoor dining, a picnic area and a barbecue.

  6. 06 · The rope rail

    Beyond the rail: a private beach area, sun loungers, snorkelling and canoeing. Other water sports are on site for an extra charge, and so is a set of darts.

The tent

One double, one single, and a pole down the middle

Every unit here is the same: a canvas bell tent on its own deck, sea-facing, on the ground. Inside there is a double bed and a single, linen, a rug over a parquet floor, a mosquito net and one bulb hanging off the centre pole. Outside there is a dining table, outdoor furniture and a terrace. Recently renovated, and it looks it.

Temporary art galleries

The wall is painted

A peacock runs down the whitewashed retaining wall above the tents, and finished panels stand propped against the rope rail where they were painted. Temporary art galleries are a listed facility here, filed between the parking and the darts.

What is propped against the rail changes. The peacock does not: it is painted straight onto the render, and the paint has run down the wall under it.

Beachfront, and it means it

The camp has its own private beach area with loungers, and direct access to the water from the terrace. Snorkelling and canoeing are on site; other water sports carry a charge, as do the sun umbrellas. Spile Beach is an eight-minute walk along the shore, and Himarë Castle is on the ridge above you.

Down the steps from the road

The camp sits on the shore west of the centre of Himarë, on its own beachfront terrace under the castle ridge. There is no street name — Booking and Google both address it by its plus code, 4P2P+2PG. Free private parking is on site and needs no reservation; the tents are down the stone steps from it.

Where exactly is Albania Glamping?
On its own beachfront terrace on the Himarë shore, west of the town. Spile Beach is an eight-minute walk and Himarë Castle stands on the ridge above.
