Sasaj Beach Guide: The Undeveloped South (Piqeras)
Sasaj Beach near Piqeras is one of the Albanian Riviera's last undeveloped stretches — clear water, few crowds, minimal facilities. Access and what to expect in 2026.

Piqeras area, far-south Riviera — between Borsh and the Lukova coves, off the SH8
Sasaj is one of the Albanian Riviera's last genuinely undeveloped beaches, on the far-south Piqeras stretch between Borsh and the Lukova coves. Green hills drop to a quiet bay with clear water and, on most days, more space than people. There are no beach clubs to speak of and facilities are sparse — that lack of development is exactly the appeal, but it means you come prepared.
Clear and calm, with a pebble entry
Off the SH8 coastal highway between Borsh and Lukova; an access road leads down toward the shore. A car is strongly recommended — the Saranda–Himara–Vlora buses run the SH8 above but drop you on the highway, not at the beach.
Minimal — among the least-developed beaches on the coast. Don't count on sunbeds, bars or reliable amenities; bring your own water, food, shade and water shoes.
Solitude, clear-water swims, and escaping the crowds further up the coast
